The Prince of Wales Set to Attend UN Climate Conference in South America
The Prince of Wales plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in South America next month, as confirmed by palace sources.
Prince William and King Charles appeared together on Thursday evening at a gathering leading up to the climate summit, which is set to be held in the northern Brazilian city of Belem.
The King and Prince were in attendance at the museum gathering, marking an rare public appearance together at a environmental conference preliminary meeting co-hosted by the British authorities.
Climate Leadership Commitment
King Charles has been a long-time champion of protecting nature - and Prince William has taken on the baton, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be held in Brazil preceding the UN meeting.
Palace insiders have described Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as taking on an important role in "environmental negotiations".
Recent Engagements
The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the official car, were greeted participants featuring environmentalists, scientists, environmental activists, diplomats and politicians.
This participation included speaking together with President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic and other international figures at the Blue Economy and Finance Forum in the Principality of Monaco during the current year.

The UN meeting will dovetail with the prince's own climate innovation prizes, which will finish in the Brazilian city the day before he attends the COP summit on November 6th.
Last week the William described the award contenders as "modern-day pioneers".
Royal Climate Legacy
King Charles has been a influential participant at previous climate summits, giving the opening address in the United Arab Emirates for COP28, including the reminder: "The Earth does not belong to us, we belong to the Earth".
"I have spent a substantial portion of my life trying to warn of the existential threats confronting humanity over global warming, climate change and species extinction," the King told participants.
